My Dearest Girl,
Honey, let me take a deep breath and begin by saying, I love you so much. I know that you and I are both TIRED. We are exhausted. But no matter how frustrating our days are, I want you to know that I love you so deeply. You test me sometimes. You try every shred of patience in me. But you are a blessing, and I am utterly honored that God chose ME to raise you.
I see you, girl. I see both the strength of your will AND the tenderness and the needs of your heart. You are so special. You are beautiful and strong. I know we butt heads a lot, but I do not see you as a hardship. I see the disappointment in your face when I have told you no for the thousandth time today. When you see disappointment in my face, it is not because of you. It’s because I want to be a better mom to you, but I fail so often. God is using you in my life. You inspire me by your incredible strength. You inspire me to desire to do better. I will do whatever it takes to become the mom who will always bring out the very best of you.
I want the best for you. I see your strengths. I see your potential, and I am so proud. I cherish those moments with you that are sweet, even though it feels like those moments are few and far between sometimes. I cherish the cuddles, the hugs, the smiles… I know that my time with you at home with me is passing quickly. I want to make as many sweet memories with you as I can.
Know this: Mommy is trying too. I’m trying the very best that I can to be the mother that you need, and to raise you the way that I believe God wants me to. I know that I make mistakes when I am angry. I know that I have hurt your tender heart. But I love you so. Please forgive me, honey. Please remember that mommy will always, always be here for you. I pray that all that strength inside of you will one day blossom in the right direction, in submission to God, living out HIS will for your life. Then you will truly be a spiritual force to be reckoned with.
You will do incredible things in your life, baby. I will always pursue you. I will always want you. I will always love you. Thank you for being my strong-willed daughter. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Love,
Mommy   xoxo
